18/3: Week In Review

1) UNIFY Gathering 2018 dates announced

UNIFY Gathering was only a couple of months ago but organisers have already spilled details about next year’s festival. It has been confirmed that UNIFY Gathering will remain a three-day festival, taking place between Friday January 12th and Sunday January 14th in Tarwin Lower. Organisers are assessing ways to make the campsite more organised, including adding more shade, toilets and security. Stay tuned to the UNIFY website for further announcements.

2) Allday and Japanese Wallpaper collab on new single and tour

Allday and Japanese Wallpaper have come together for their new collaborative single ‘In Motion’. ‘In Motion’ is the third single off Allday’s upcoming album ‘Speeding’, due April 21st. Allday will be embarking on a national tour in support of his new album, and will be taking Japanese Wallpaper and Nicole Millar with him. Starting in Melbourne at Festival Hall on July 7th, the tour will reach Sydney and Perth before ending in Brisbane with two shows at The Tivoli on July 29th.

3) Seth Sentry announces single tour

Melbourne’s Seth Sentry has announced a national tour in celebration of his new single ‘Play It Safe’. The whopping twelve date tour kicks off in Canberra on May 3rd, before visiting Sydney, Long Jetty, Brisbane, Brunswick Heads, Maroochydore, Melbourne, Ballarat, Adelaide, Bunbury, Perth and Fremantle. 4) Gretty Ray releases new single

Singer-songwriter Gretta Ray has previewed her latest single ‘Towers’ via Spotify. ‘Towers’ follows on from her breakout single ‘Drive’, which claimed number 27 in Triple J’s Hottest 100 of 2016. Gretta Ray will play two single launch shows next month- Sydney at Newtown Social Club on April 18th and Melbourne at Howler on April 20th.

5) Bluesfest lineup gets even bigger

The 2017 Bluesfest lineup has expanded once more with Boomerang Festival joining the mix. Boomerang Festival sees artists from Australia, New Zealand, Tibet and Canada coming together for music, dance and interactive workshops. Yirrmal, Leonard Sumner and OKA are some of the new additions to the overall Bluesfest lineup, joining the likes of Busby Marou, Remi and Courtney Barnett. 6) D.D Dumbo tour announcement

D.D Dumbo has announced he is touring throughout June in support of his 2016 debut album ‘Utopia Defeated’. The seven-date tour will see D.D Dumbo taking his full band out on the road for the first time. With two sold out shows in Melbourne already, D.D Dumbo will be hitting the stage in Brisbane, Sydney, Thirroul, Ballarat and Perth. Tour dates are on his Facebook page.
