1/4: Week In Review

1) The Splendour In The Grass lineup has dropped

After much anticipation, Splendour In The Grass organisers have announced the huge lineup for this year’s festival. International artists The XX, Queens Of The Stone Age, LCD Soundsystem, Royal Blood and Haim are just some of the big names on the list. They will be joined by some of Australia’s favourites, including Vance Joy, Peking Duck, Paul Kelly, Dune Rats, Tash Sultana, Allday and Cut Copy. Splendour In The Grass will be held at North Byron Parklands this July, however the festival will move to a new location in 2018. View the full lineup here.

2) Montaigne announces tour

Sydney songstress Montaigne has announced a tour for later this year. Off the back of a successful album tour last year, Montaigne will be playing shows in Perth, Ballarat, Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney this July and August. She’ll be joined by I Know Leopard for the duration of the tour.

3) The Blurst Of Times lineup announced

It was the best of times, it was the blurst of times, and now The Blurst Of Times lineup is here. Being held in Brisbane at The Brightside, The Foundry and Black Bear Lodge on April 29th, this year’s lineup features an array of homegrown talent. Skegss, Ngaiire, The Creases, Columbus, Alex Lahey and Horror My Friend are just some of the artists involved; for the full lineup visit the event page.

4) Tired Lion announce new single and tour

Perth indie-rockers Tired Lion premiered their new single ‘Cinderella Dracula’ this week, which is off their upcoming debut album. To celebrate the single the band will be playing a string of shows in Perth (Badlands, May 5th), Melbourne (Northcote Social Club, May 11th), Brisbane (Brightside, May 12th) and Sydney (Hudson Ballroom, May 13th). 5) Groovin’ The Moo add final acts to lineup

The final lineup additions for Groovin’ The Moo have been revealed. Coda Conduct, Running Touch, Alice Ivy, Pon Cho and Annie Bass are some of the acts joining previously announced Amy Shark, Architects, The Smith Street Band and The Wombats. Groovin’ The Moo is heading to Wayville, Maitland, Townsville, Bendigo, Canberra and Bunbury later this month and early May. Full lineup can be found on the GTM website.

6) West Thebarton Brothel Party premiere new video

Adelaide’s West Thebarton Brothel Party have shown off their new video clip for latest single ‘Moving Out’. The band are currently on a mini-tour, playing Crowbar in Brisbane tonight and Yah Yah’s in Melbourne on April 8th. Look out for the band’s new album expected for release in August.
